Shocks shot up?
So my cousin is driving a 1993 del sol, all stock except obx springs, still has 13 inch steelies. His rear passenger side shock shut up into his trunk, we've been told either it was the top mount or when somebody switched in the obx springs, they forgot one of the big black washers. We plan to take it out looking further into it but we need to attain a spring compressor because it would suck taking it out and not being able to put the spring back in. Any ideas or help, I am new to driving and working on cars.
not sure if you see the pictures, heres two direct links

why would you need a spring compressor if you have lowering springs on the car?
from the picture its obvious there's enough play in the assembly to install it without a spring compressor, don't you think?
also that shock may not be any good, if its been travelling up and down through the tower its very possible its been badly scratched, so i would check that as well.

It very well might be the bushing and not the washer. I ran through mine real quick (I was strapped for time ) and apparantly I lost a bushing on the driver's rear. Didn't notice it and it was all set up minus the bushing and that's exactly what happened. I just picked up a $5 bushing kit from autozone and I re-did it. Good to go. The washer was on mine, just the bushing was missing.
Just looked at your pics again. You can clearly see the bushing is not under it. Get a bushing kit.
