Default shocks

Just purchased some used eibach sportlines to go on my 93 civic. I was wondering what would be a good shock/strut to go with it? I'd rather not spend another 500 bucks on koni yelows. I read somewhere that the reds and equiv. KYB's do not have the shorter rod or body to accompany a lowered car? So they will get worn out or blown out pretty much the same as a stock strut on a lowered car?
What are other inexpensive options? I've read some about bilstiens, don't know where to get them though. Will illuminas handle my need? I'm not an autocrosser right now, just need good stuff that will last. Thanks

I run Tokico Blues, definatley far from the best shock in the world, but for the money they seem to do ok, although I have always had trouble blowing the rear ones, but I do tear up alot of back roads with occasional bumps... If you going with a mild drop no more than 2" i think the blues whoudl work well for you, anything lower than that and they seem to go pretty quickly

I personally suggest Illuminas for your needs. Not the cheapest, but they'll do u good in the long run. Koni's are VERY good too, but they're a bit more expensive. Red koni's are NOT equivalent. They're more of a OEM replacement but a little better. I would never reccoment KYB, though, some people have had success with it.

So does anyone have experience with aftermarket bilstiens? I've never seen them for sale anywhere so I don't know how much those go for or if that's what I need. I'm probably gonna go for illuminas right now...

I know that Neuspeed uses a Bilstien shock with a shortened rod in their coilovers, and I've heard good things about the coilovers so the bilstiens can't be too bad...

Actually Progress and LandSpeedRacing make their own strut designed for springs at the 2" drop level.... giving a near factory ride quality w/o worrying of blowing the strut.... http://www.landspeedracing.com sells them for $289 the set of 4. I'm waiting for some money to come in and it'll be my next purchase.
