Default Sho_Shane's SLOW Progress Thread

January-2nd
I picked up a 95 Honda Civic HB. It had ALOT of probs and iv had to do ALOT of work. So I wanted to make this Thread so me and whoever else cares can keep up with the progress I have and will make on this old heap.

When I got it it had this:
A REALLY wore out D15B
Bilsteins Struts on the front and stock on the rear (Front ones leaking)
H&R springs
Stock exhaust with holes throughout no muffler (fell off from rust)
Disc Brakes all around. (Both rear brake lines leaking)
GSR Fat Fives (no curb rash but clear pilling)

January-9th
I take care of the Exhaust with a great deal I found on CL for a Full Greddy Evo 2 Exhaust. The Exhaust was made for an EK hatch so it had to be modded to fix my EG. But we made it work:

January-12th
Then I decided that it was time for a bath so I washed it up good:

Man I really LOVE black and white:

January-14th
I was running pretty hard enjoying a county road with a lot of twist in it. I came off a high rev and the car turned into a Subaru. Found out later that I punched a hole in an intake valve. The car still got me to work though everyday, it took a qt of oil a day and a max speed of 55 or so but it did it for a month.

Febuary-11th
I found a healthy high miles (150k or so) D16Z6 on CL from one guy and a JDM LSD SI Transmission on HT from another guy. I picked up both (120 miles for the tranny) that weekend.

Febuary-15th
It was out with the old and in with the new so to speak. Before the Z6 went in it got a new timing belt, water pump, oil pan gasket, valve cover gasket, and plugs. It’s the motor IV been running since then and its still running great.

Febuary-22nd
The stock Z6 exhaust manifold cracked. But CL came to the rescue again and I was able to find a DC Sport Header for 50 bucks in perfect shape. Then the same week a buddy of mine picked up a civic and traded me even my stock intake for the AEM Short Ram that was on the car he picked up.

March-24th
I get new black housing headlights in and installed them on the car. Also painted the Front Bumper:
Old Headlights

New Headlights:

I kind of goofed on the bumper so I spent a month with no bumper while I tried to fix the damage I did. Something was not cleaned off the bumper when it was cleaned and the paint bubbled up really bad.

April-3rd
I got the Front bumper back on with fresh paint. On the 5th I was on my way to work behind a big truck and it slung a piece of a recap that was in the road and hit my bumper leaving a black mark I cant get off.

April-22nd
I got a set of stock Side Skirts for the car. I sanded, painted and installed them. I also installed a Front Lip.
A few pics of me and my son working on the Side Skirts. You can see the Lip laying in front of the car waiting to go on:

After this work I didn’t really do much of anything to it for a month. To busy with being a full time single father of my 6yr daughter and 8yr son.

May-28th
Went to the car wash for a good cleaning and a few pics:

June-5th
I pulled the hood and rear bumper with the help of my girl. I sanded, painted, and re-installed them all in one day:

The finished product I’m very happy with. This was all done with shake shake, what you don’t see in the pics is the 2 hours I spent wet sanding and re-shooting the hood and bumper to get it to where it is:

The bumper had a rip in it so I gave it Stitches, its small and it should cover all the way when my Rear Lip comes in:

June-9th
I picked up 5 count them 5 MINT 15x6.5 Konig Feather Weight’s. Four of them were still in the box:

June-30th
I found a roof top in my town and shot a few pics I thought were cool:

July-9th
I got the new wheels Installed and me and some friends went to a car show:

Dirty Bumper

Me and my friends cars now mine is all washed up:

So this is where I’m at right now. Let me know what yall think, if you like it or hate it…

Good start. I like the sound of the Evo. I just don't like the size of the canister and tip. I used to know someone who had it in his GSR with ITR cams/IM and it sounds nice at WOT. Swap in a GSR or better yet R, you will love it.

Ya I love the sound of my Greddy, No luck on the GSR swap though.

I plan on doing a small turbo (T25 at 6-8psi) setup for it. Im just hoping the Greddy EVO2 I have on it now will be big enough for the turbo setup so I dont have to change it.
