yea i got my hood from trix (good Company ) and got a bottle of this stuff. It works pretty good. It works the same way rubbing compound does on scratchs and takes out the swirls and gives it a nice shine...i havent tried to wax my hood with anything else so i cant really compare.

c/f hoods have gel coat as the top finish-nothing special about it.
the product you pictured is just regular old wax-it even says so on the label.
i've cared for my c/f hood just like the rest of my car(all Mequiar's products,Gold Class wax and Show Car Glaze),it looks just as good as new five years later.
unless you've had your hood sprayed with a UV-resistant clearcoat(like what's on your paint)-and as far as i know, none of the c/f hood manufacturers do this-the gel coat will start to get cloudy and go to hell unless you keep it waxed-no different than the rest of your car.
anyways, bottom line:just keep it waxed like the rest of your car and you're fine.no special products needed.

Re: shiny cf hood (jdmEFnine1)
Constant sun exposure without constant waxing will definitely affect CF hood appearance adversely over time. I slacked a bit and mind got a little yucky.
It's garaged for weeks at a time now, so the damage won't progress any further. Just keep it waxed with a one step (I use Mother's carnauba Cleaner wax) once a month and you'll be fine.
