Shifting from 1st
I recently acquired a very clean 1994 Civic DX sedan. Sometimes when I shift out of first gear, it's not hard, persay, but it kinda jumps out of gear. It only seems to do it when I'm over 4000rmp. Any thoughts?

Re: Shifting from 1st (JRI94)
um be more specific...what do you mean it jumps out of gear when you shift...Like you shift and it comes out of gear? Its supposed to do that...please be more specific.
And before you say anything no i'm not a moron and have rebuilt the transmission on my car and have NO clue what the **** you're talking about.

Re: Shifting from 1st (BauleyCivic)
It doesn't matter about the torque. **** that part of it. The stick doesn't always come back out of first smoothly...it kind of pops. Does that help?

do you depress the clutch a little early or not all the way? cause i know if i get lazy and do it my shifter easily comes popping right out and makes a nice "thud" sound lol

Re: Shifting from 1st (IDriveAHonda)
I'll pay attention to that. Your noise is on the right track. But like I said, it's only around 4000revs and higher. I'm just guessing on the revs cuz I don't have a tach. Thanks for a real thought.

come on bro, you gotta explain in detail so we can get a clue as to what it is you're talking about
Sounds to me like you're not driving well......make sure you either push the clutch in when you pull out of gear, or you drop out of gear BEFORE the revs start to drop

Shut the **** up dipshit. Don't whine to us because you are bad at explaining your problem. The only problem I've had with the shifter coming out violently is when I don't press my clutch pedal in the entire way. Perhaps your clutch is dying, but I would think the shifter would come out easier, so I have no idea.

Re: Shifting from 1st (Emerika)
I wasn't bitching, dipshit. I'll try to explain better next time. So I paid attention to my driving and as it turns out I do sometimes shift a tad early. My clutch may also suck ***. It's stock with 137,000 mi. And just so BauleyCivic knows, I'm doing my Honda for the hobby, not for having a lack of dick.

I plan on doing that when I put in a short shifter. I know my linkage is a little loose when I move my stick to the left. And I would change my avatar, but when I try to I'm told "avatars are disabled".

I don't care if you're doing your civic for womens rights. My clutch is the original one and I got 162,000 miles. Learn to drive a standard and how to take care of a clutch.

If you would have even read my first post before going off on your power trip you would've noticed THAT I JUST GOT THE DAMN CAR!!! I've put 1,000 miles on it! So with those facts, who now will you lay the blame on?
