Default shifter question

ok guys it seems that it only does this in first i have a 98 coupe with a b18b1 swap hassport shift linkage and a b&m short shifter when im at a dead stop or low in second and need to down shift to first it does it both ways it feels really hard to go into fist gear not unmanageably hard but not like the other gears and when ur putting it in fist you fell like 2 clicks and sometimes it stops at the first click with out me realizing it and i feel like an idot when i go to leave and its still in neutral and i rev up and roll back lol but what could be some symptoms of this ? low tranny fluid, low oil. shift linkage needs to be greased ? any help is appreciated

mine does the same thing i don't think that it is a problem i think that it is designed to do that so you don't slam it in first instead of 3rd also so you dont downshift into first from second when the rpms are too high. i really never downshift into first unless im rolling under 5mph.

yea idk what it is but i just wanted to make sure i wasent ****ing nothing up by feeling that and doing nothing about it why is it when you do a swap you can never get that factory shifter feel ever agian i mean atleast i never can and ive had 4 swapped civics now and wether the shift linkage is stock or aftermarket same with the shifter assembly too i never get them really smooth shifts anymore and theres always a little play when in gear like side to side but stock shifters dont have that its like you break them bolts loose one time and it done
