sounds like a rear mount also check the shift linkage bolts and bushings as well

could be a broken or worn mount. check all of them including the lower torque mounts.

does anything else shake at those speeds? cause if it was a broken mount you would notice that at all speeds. not just 60

I don't know. My camaro had fine tranny mounts, but when you gave it gas, the shifter moved (in neutral). to 8.3L.

The speed you mention is ironic. You sure it's not just a wheel out of balance or something? I'd get the wheels aligned and balanced first. This way you'll know it's not a problem there. I've seen rotation and alignment problems make shifters move - though mmaybe it's not.

It's worth checking out, though.

no the shifter moves front to rear only when i give it gas or let off, and the car shimmy i think is bad tires or balance etc. but mainly i am wondering what the shifter movement is all about

i have a 97 dx coupe that does the exact same thing. and at 60 the wheel starts jerking side to side. i think its a faulty allignment. whit the shifter moving, ive put 30,000 miles on it with no problem. i dont know much about what that could be tho

if your shifter moves alot side to side when its in gear it the washers on the side of the shifter where the bolts goes through. l=l
