Shifter installation question. ASAP
I was trying to take out my stock shifter today and when i got the shifter disconnected i also got the big plate disconnected that goes into the cushion "thing" off to the side, but the only part i am stuck on is the actual tiny plate that holds the shifter in place, the 2 bolts that hold that on have a flat head, but when i go to take out the bolts, they just spin in place, and i cant get ahold of the top to hold it securely. Can anyone help me out? Thanks. If this is confusing I will try to clear it up in further replies.

Here you go...
1)Take your center console out
2) Pull the black rubber thing off.
3) Now you can see the top of the 2 bolts that you couldnt get to before.
3) You need 2 people because someone has to be on top holding the bolt with pliars and then someone needs to be on the bottom loosning the bolt..Goodluck

Re: Shifter installation question. ASAP (mOuse)
I had the same problem two days ago when I did a friends shifter. The head of the bolt is flat and smooth, the bolt is square between the bolt head and the bolt threads, this square matches the square hole in the top of the assembly. Use a pair of needle nose pliers (needle nose vise grips are best) to hold the head from spinning. I was able to do this on his from under the car.
