Default Shifter cradle not supporting shifter and shift ****??

Hey guys, I have a 96 civic with 98 b18c1. Recently my shifter would fall when i was in the lower gears, i.e. 2nd, 4th, reverse. Not it has begun falling when in nuetral and sometimes when in 1st, 3rd, and 5th. I picked up an adjustable short shifter from a friend when i did the swap. The fulcrum of the shifter is like a plastic ball which allows the shifter length to be adjusted. My question is, do you think the plastic ball joint is worn? How can i go about getting a replacment cradle or cup for the shifter? please let me know asap, sucks driving like this. thanks for all the help HT

a plastic ball on your shifter?
i've never seen plastic used in a shifter, do you have a picture?
i'm sure this is the issue though, have you visually inspected it?

The ball that adjusts is plastic i am pretty sure. it screws up and down depending on your desired throw.

I'm having a hard to understanding what's going on, but it seems as tho your problem is that you need to tighten the thing that holds the ball of the shifter to the shift linkage. don't over tighten tho or it will be very hard to get it in gear.

Was the car swapped from automatic to manual?

I know mine is a little too far back.

The car is swapped but the shifter position is good. The ball where the fulcrum point is of the shifter falls through the cradle type object in the linkage. any help would be appreciated. still driving around holding up my shifter to be able to shift.
