Default Shift Linkage Backwards? Clutch Problems?

Is is possible to install a shift linkage backwards? Well, up-side down I should say. I just swapped a z6 in my cx and the shifter is acting funny. It's almost like neutral is where the 1-3-5 should be. Its also fairly wobbly too. Any thoughts?

Also, I tried turning my motor to TDC today, it was very stiff. I had to put a lot of muscle into it. When the motor out of the car, it spun very easily. I dont have my clutch bled yet. Could this be the problem?
