Shift light install problem
aight I got my hands ona autometer shift light for cheap and went to hook it up today as follows:
Red wire: hooked up to the power wire on my stereo
Black: Grounded it to a ground in the engine bay
Green wire: connected it to the blue wire on the drivers side shock tower
When I turn the the car on the light goes on for about four seconds then goes off
The light does not turn on when it suppose to. The catridge that came with it is set at 6800 rpm.
could the cartridge be bad????

Re: (dizzyek)
Why did you hook it to your stereo power? You have a fuse box with a very easy-to-access ignition = hot switch in it right below the steering column.
Have you tried a different pill or are you just assuming that the 6800 is in proper working order? Did you read the instructions? Have you called Autometer?
