Shave Door handle for hatchbacks
hey is it possible to use the rear exterior (outside) door handle from a sedan and install in the front door handles? I just want to get rid of the keyholes on the door handle.

Re: Shave Door handle for hatchbacks
ok just making sure, because i am gonna order from honda world (it comes pre-painted) and its special order so it cannot be returened.
Anyways they told me that the front and rear outside handle have different holes and slot and such and said it will not fit. So it will fit and is same right?

Re: Shave Door handle for hatchbacks
if you have a 96-00 coupe or hatch, and you order 96-00 sedan rear handles, i guarantee you they will fit.
you will need to get keyless, and remove one of the poles(not sure what to call it really) from the lock actuator, but they do fit. i can take pictures and show you if you want.

to the OP, why don't you just get one from the junkyard? I'm sure it will be way cheaper than from Honda World.

yes Geneeunit can you post picture so i can see what you are talking about? that will be very helpful!!! thanks.
Btw I didnt get from junk yard because i think hondas are gonna be stripped fast and it wont be left for me. And i dont wanna try a bunch of junkyard or wait a long time til i find one. Also i called a dismantelling place and they charge same price as honda world (dumb ppl)

Re: Shave Door handle for hatchbacks
pics please
I had heard of this but thought the front pass door handle would go on the pass door of a hatch/coupe.
I didn't know it was the rear. That's better that way both sides dont have keyholes
i want to see this I never thought of it

Re: Shave Door handle for hatchbacks
taking pictures right now..
EDIT:: The Photos
drivers side lock
piece that needs to be removed
reason being.. it will just sit there loosely since the sedan rear handles dont have this spot for the locks.
enjoi.

Re: Shave Door handle for hatchbacks
that hole is in the original handle, the keyhole, just from the backside though. you'll see everything when you take it apart.
