this shats ugly...
I hate showing anyone my engine...because frankly..its ugly as ****. Is there a cover or something to spruce it up a bit...i know you can get new hoses but im mostly worried about the head for now.

i would hate to show people my engine bay if it looked like that. a B series engine would look much better than that single cam .
and to help you out.... people paint their vavlecovers like the Type R(might want to search "valvecover"). get the colored hoses if you want people to call you a rice boy.
Sorry, but this is the truth. and BTW im not raggin on you or anything, do what you want to do, its your car. HTH

Re: this shats ugly... (Mike Type R)
Well i was thinking of getting practical use stuff...such as
new plug wires, distrib cap, ext coil....maybe cam gears and pulleys, but i guess just painting the cover would work best for me. im not looking into a swap, just gonna go turbo on the good ole sohc..heh.

Nothing wrong w/ the SOHC. Don't be afraid to do something big to it.
All you need is some aluminum polish, Simple Green and a buttload of Armor All.
That, and a good hour and a half.
Get to steppin'!!!

I would love to polish my B16 valve cover, that red type R is getting old. Does anybody have pics of thier chrome or polished B- series valve covers?

how come my EX says vtec on the head? is that only on the 5th gen?
Honestly, give the cover a few coats of flat black engine paint...Remove the paint off the letters. That would look clean and simple. And plus, you wouldn't be biting the faux type-r look.

Just clean it first. You will be surprised how nice it will look afterwards. Make sure you really clean it, don't just spray some engine cleaner on and wipe it off.
Use some brillow pads and a wash mit to really get the grime out and bring out the shine.
