Default shaky steering wheel?

my steering wheel starts to shake at around 50mph>. its fine around town though. i cant jiggle the steering wheel a lil bit whens its parked. does anyone know how to tighten this down properly? and will this prevent shaking at high speeds?

your rotors may be warped. Have them resurfaced or buy aftermarket cool slotted ones...

So it shakes while you drive or when you brake?

Could also be CV joint starting to go. I've had one cause the shaking above 50 mph. I never knew it was the problem till it blew up. I blamed the shaking on unevenly worn tires. The shakes were gone after I replaced the blown CV joint. Poorly balanced wheels usually don't start causing the shakes till above 60 mph.

The speed where it starts shaking is normally related to how bad the wheel is out of balance or suspension is out of alignment, not really what the problem is.

You could also have a gotten a bad tire (out of round, broken belt). If you just got new tires, I'd take it back to the tire place and have them check them over.
