several noob h22 ?'s
im new to the honda scene and looking for some knowledge. i plan on getting an eg hatch and doing an jdm h22 swap. i want this to be a daily driver that has some ***** and is reliable. no real plans for track use. here goes several questions...
1. I see that HMO sells the complete changeover, hasport mounts, and correct axels for the swap into an eg. (i think it would be easier to get everything from the same place). this seems like everything that is needed for the swap is this correct.
2. the complete from hmo comes with shift cables and assembly. will this work for my application.
3. i read that it is advised to get a new water pump, and timing belt. why?
4. i also read that it is advised to get a new clutch and resurface the flywheel...why would i have problems with the stock clutch.
5. is any additonal wiring needed. i plan on having a local shop throw her in.
6. what is the best route for the radiator, necessary to replace.
7. if planning on getting a used eg would i need to replace fuel pump.
thank you for the info, any info would help, i know i will get lit up for some of these questions.

Re: several noob h22 ?'s (00trdtaco)
1. good deal... heard many great things about that place, but have no personal experience witht them.
2. yes it will work. it does require that you cut up your console, well the body under the console, for the shifter assembly to mount to.
3. new water pump and timing belt is for peace of mind... its a bitch to change with the engine in the car....
4. once again piece of mind.... if oyu can do it now, why suffer later? right?
5. not sure...
6. i dunno, but it never hurts to upgrade.
7. don't thing so, but see number six....
hope this helps....
