several d16 turbo questions
i got a 96 Civic EX, d16y8 motor. me and my buddy are doing a home-grown turbo project. did research, talked to local guys, read forums and other pages and i set out to build me a turbo kit. its almost completed, i'm just down to little wire hookups and my vacuum lines, which is where most my questions are.
1) Manual Boost Controller - has 2 ports coming out, and of course the thing didn't come with instructions so i'm kind of confused. it has 2 ports and a hose tee...i know i have to have a line coming from my external wastegate, but where it goes from there and how the tee fits into the equation is beyond me. how are you supposed to set these things up?
2) External Wastegate - has a metal sealer ring that fits on the bottom between the manifold and the wastegate. however, it doesn't fit flush, rather it sticks out a little. is it supposed to so that when you tighten the wastegate to the manifold it seals tight and slightly compresses the spring? or is it supposed to fit right in off the manifold?
3) Blow Off Valve - has to be tee'd into a vacuum line, just curious as to which line some of you guys have tapped into. theres a line from the AI manifold to the cruise control that i figure will work, any better suggestions? Also to those who have a boost gauge, where did you tap that line?
Any suggestions, pictures, or helpful websites would be appreciated. thanks guys
