Default With this set up on my B18C, what will my compression be?

ITR cams, and a spoon headgasket? Im going for higher compression, but do not necessarily want to get my A/F parts just yet.

Wondering what my compression will be, and will my valves clear the pistons?

do it yourself

cams dont affect compression.

how thick is the gasket?? you will need to know to get acurate reading on there

Not sure on compression, but spoon raises it exactly .03 points.

If it raises it .3 the that would net you 10.9 on a JDM B18C

Wrong. Cams DO effect compression. Not static compression, but they do effect dynamic compression.

please elaborate on how the affect the compression ratio in the combustion chamber.

thanks, looks like i typo'd. It's a USDM B18C1, ITR cams, and the headgasket. Either way, close to 11 compression was what i was going for.

Like 10.7 on a USDM.

JDM 10.6 stock
USDM 10.4 stock

I've heard the mugen headgasket raises it by .5, but dont quote me on that.

As I said, they effect the dynamic compression. Its simple. You ever wonder why a larger lift, large durration cam calls for "high compression"? Overlap effects dynamic compression, thats why. If you enough overlap, then durring the first few degrees of the compression stroke, some of your mixture is pushed out of the exhaust, thus reducing dynamic compression and effectively reducing overall compression as well. I tried to find you a good link explaining it all, but wasn't too sucessfull. Lots of calculators...

You will sit at about 10.3:1 on a USDM B18C engine with that headgasket. You should replace the pistons with USDM ITR's if you see to raise compression one full point. The headgasket alone will not do it.
