Service Manual: Replace Bolts and Gaskets?

Service Manual: Replace Bolts and Gaskets?
I picked up a used exhaust the other day. When installing it, I noticed the service manual stated that I should replace the gaskets and bolts. I didn't and it seems to run fine. Should I go back and replace these? Why does the manual say you should do this?
Thanks

I think it is just because they are wear and tear items, and in some cases may not hold up as well to repeated use. I've taken off sections of my exhaust and re-installed it with no ill effects for not replacing any gaskets/bolts.
It's like headbolts, some people always replace them, some re-use.

your local dealer, online shops like hondaautomotiveparts.com or hparts.com, you may even be able to get some stuff at pepboys, autozone, etc. not sure though.
