heh i have a 92FS as well, with 17 rnd mag also. let me know if you can where i could go about finding a threaded barrel and silencer

Just an FYI to anybody crazy enough to do this.. if you really want to take out a thief silently, a compound bow or crossbow will do the job. just park in an area you know thieves regularly hit, and hide out in the woods and wait. the only sound you will hear is the thiefs screams

thieves are the lowest lifeforms on the planet, down there with murderers, rapists, terrorists and child molesters so they deserve it. we all know the police arent doing anything to crack down on it</TD></TR></TABLE>

http://www.impactguns.com u wil find silencers and barrels there

I'll add my .02 cents.

I think the best way to protect your car from being stolen is to:

a) be smart about where you park it.

b) realize that if you have highly visible cosmetic modifications (like carbon fiber hoods, and exspensive aftermarket rims) that your car automatically becomes
a bigger target.

Be smart about where you keep/park your car and dont draw unecessary attention to it. In other words keep it as stock looking as possible.

It seems to me that no matter how many theft prevention devices one might have on his/her car, if the thief wants it bad enough, they're going to figure out a way to get it. Or at the very least rip your car apart trying.

Just be smart about where you park it. Dont settle into a routine so that it makes it easy for a "casual admirer" to always know where your car is parked. If you go to school, try and park it in different locations as much as possible. Or do like a friend of mine does and pay the security guard an extra twenty dollars a week to keep a good eye on your ride.

just to share my experience. my kill switch can pretty much take of "drive away" type of car theft. however, when they can have a key made and a tow truck, i got owned too.

IMO, i think a GPS type tracking device would be your best bet.

I won't be spending tons of money to make sure it does'nt get stolen when my civic looks basically stock and Insurance will pay for it if it does get stolen.

EDIT: I know to most of us it's our pride and joy, but honestly, it's an econobox civic. It's really not worth all that much compared to most cars on the road.

The problem I see with lojack in a Civic is that usually by the time you find out your car is gone it had probably already been stripped and the lojack found and thrown in a lake.

My personal opinion is that you should do these things

1. Get an alarm with the 2-way paging. My friend has one of these and its
nice. He knows when someone walks by his car its so sensitive.
2. If you worried about you negative battery terminal being taken off the battery get something like hood locks. like doos pins but you need a key to open them.
3. Hide the brain of your alarm in your car.
4. and read this post because there is alot of useful information.

Well a *helpfull* security system installer just emailed me instructions on how to move your hood pop cable.... I guess I should go ahead and add it here along with post a new post about it in the Civic EG EK section...

- from a friend of LVDR.net -

As you probably know, Honda goofed when they routed the hood release cable under the driver's side fender. Anyone can just pull off the plastic cover that's under the fender and open the hood just as if they had pulled on the lever that's in the car. They can then disconnect the battery (to kill the alarm) and or help themselves to anything under the hood.
Here are the instructions on re-routing the hood release cable so it passes through the engine compartment instead and is not accessible from the outside.
First, the disassembly
Remember to start by opening your hood first, once you start pulling stuff apart, you would not be able to open it.
You need to remove:
1) The drivers side kick panel.
2) The two screws (10mm) that attach the hood release lever next to the fuse panel.
3) The drivers side front mudguard. (if you have mudguards)
4) The front drivers side plastic inner fender cover. (it will be easier if you remove the tire)
5) The metal bracket that holds the three engine wiring harnesses. (it is located on the firewall just behind the drivers side strut tower). Disconnect the three plugs so you can work easier.
Now remove the hood release cable from the hood release lever inside the car (you need to turn it a certain way so it will slide out.)
Look under the fender and notice which cable is the hood release (there are two other rubber hoses down there.) The hood release cable is the thin black one that has plastic clips attaching it to the fender every couple of inches. There is a rubber grommet where the cable goes into the car. Pull on the grommet and it will come out.
Pull the cable out of the hole making sure it doesn't catch on anything inside the car.
Now you need to remove all of the plastic clips that hold the cable to the fender. You can pry them off with a screwdriver. (save a couple for use later)
Once the cable is free from the clips, go around the front of the car and find where the cable goes into the fender (just behind the Drivers side headlight.) Pull the cable back so it doesn't go into the fender anymore.
Now route the cable through the inside of the engine compartment towards the firewall. I had to go over the strut tower because there wasn't enough slack to go around it.
The best place I found to drill into the firewall is right next to where the clutch cable goes in. I drilled about 2 inches to the drivers side of the clutch cable. Make the hole large enough to fit the end of the cable through.
Now run the cable in through the hole. The tip of the cable has to pass behind the fuse panel and come out where the hood release lever goes.
Attach the cable back to the hood release lever and bolt the lever back on.
Test the lever now to make sure it works. If the lever is hard or gets stuck, check for any kinks in the cable, the cable must stay as straight as possible.
Push the rubber grommet up to the hole you drilled in the firewall (use black sealant to seal it)
Now determine the best place to attach the plastic clips to hold the cable securely. I drilled a hole in the top of the strut tower for mine and re-used an existing hole on the side of the engine compartment for another one.
Now reattach the engine harness cables and the bracket for the cables.
Seal the hole under the fender where the cable used to enter with sealant.
Re-attach the fender inner cover and mudguard.
Put tire back on if you took it off.
Re-attach kick panel cover inside the car.
That's it, you should be done. It took me about 45 minutes

First of all, I live at home. I stay on the computer until my dad gets up at 4:15 a.m. The computer room is about 20 feet from my car. I have a cop that lives about 4 houses down, and is up all the damn time(bless his heart)hehe. I have a loaded 12 ga. shotgun in my room. My brother has a glock 45 and a new benelli shotgun(counterstrike style). I live in a small city where cops are up like korean kids in pc gaming places. No offense to Koreans, I have many Korean friends....I have a good alarm too, BUT....I'm still paranoid as ****. Last night I heard my alarm go off, for the first time ever, I think it was just someone with a loud exhaust cruising my street. There was no evidence of anything suspicious. Anyway, I just think that unless your car is in your garage, it can never truly be safe from those ******* THIEVES!

Autolock is better than nothing. Who cares if you work at a repo company. A layered security is a good thing to have, and an Autolock would be a good layer.

I usually don't drive my 510 out and about as a daily driver so when I do go out , to say a casino or somewhere where they have valet parking I take full advantage of it. You know how many cars have been stolen from valet, I would say not many. Plus the valet parking is usually employees only, and video monitered. Why park in garage, when you could pay like 10 bucks to keep your car nice and safe.
