searched.nothing! d16 rods
well i am going onto my second d16z6 soon. both engines the connecting rods broke or bearings went bad.
what i want to know is, what kind of rods can i put in place of the z6 that are stronger. does it increase power or nothing at all? also what kind of pistons would work good to get more power. i know if i stay n/a my choices will vary then if i go turbo. next year i might turbo it, but not until then
so someone help?

Re: (90CivicDx)
check the classifieds for ls rods- i believe they need to be slightly machined to fit the d16 crank, but its like not a big job for a machine shop. maybe lookin at like 200 for the rods and another 40 or so in machinework. these are rough estimates i dont know for sure. but while the rods are in a machineshop u might wanna have them shotpeened too- to give a little extra strength. so say its 250 roughly total, its still over a hundred bucks cheaper than cheap forged rods and they can handle 200-250 or so whp.

didnt the eagles require you to notch your block??? i still think it would be cheaper to get ls rods machined to fit, even if its only 50 bucks, its still cheaper. check the sponsor marketplace forum- i remember seeing a buy for eagle rods for 310 bucks.

Stock rods are good for a little over 200 Hp daily driven.
