searched but have tranny questions
Buddy of mine bought my car, he was loosing tranny oil and didnt add... ooops
not the bearings are done.
Cars a d16vtec with a newer d15(DX) tranny
he wants a little closer ratios as well as changing out the bad bearings.
Whats the best was to achive and places to find the parts.
Thanks in advance
Steve

If he wants shorter gears, he needs to get the Z6 transmission, from the D16Z6, from the 92-95 Ex's and Si's (Ej1's and EG6's).
You could also look into the Y8 transmission from 96-00 d16y8's, but IMO they are trouble and tend to break easier, thats from personal experience. Same gearing tho.

Re: (s_vares)
You can take cues from Bense's F2D thread if you want a true close ratio transmission. Otherwise, the cost of a new FD would be double or triple of what a decent Z6/Y8 tranny go for...
