Is it knocking? Did you check your oil?

same thing on my 94 coupe...happens from 2k to like 2700...just put in higher octane gas and let it clean itself out...worked for me

yea i checked the oil it was fine..the sound seems to be coming from the tranny..also in 5th gear theres no sound but in every other gear there is..i recently put in a new clutch and pressure plate hoping it would also fix the problem..but it didnt. to be honest i really didnt check out the fly wheel..do u guys think it could be the fly wheel..???

i had the same problem when i got my car new from the dealer. i had them check it out and they said it was normal.. i took it to two dealers, so if it is the same thing then it is normal.

Re: (Ek9_6)
Put your car up on jack stands, get underneath it and look at your exhaust manifold heatshields. Give them a few shakes and see if you can replicate the sound. My CX was doing the same thing and that what it was. Hope this helps.
Mark
*EDIT* If it is indeed your heatshields, just rip them off, I did it and have yet to experience any ill effects.

Re: (Ek9_6)
my civic did the same thing. it was my main shaft bearing in the transmission. the bearing keeps the shaft from moving. so if it is the bearing, it is better to go ahead and fix it now, because if you let it go it will eventually put a hole in the transmission case. i had to get my tranny rebuilt. just pray that it ain't the same as mine, cause it cost $1500 to get it rebuilt.

Re: (PhatBoy5015)
if it is the bearing how much do they usually run..and if the bearings are the problem what would other area that i should look into to avoid future damage...just a quick question as well..does a damaged bearing effect the clutch and shifting because my clutch and shifts are smooth..perfect actually
