You guys think YOU got scammed? I got scammed, by a well-known member.
Jonathan Foster aka Fr0stee Tr00per screwed me outta over $1000 Dollars.
Here's the story:
I had been talking to him on AOL fer awhile...we would bullshit and send car pics back and forth for months. One day in conversation, he tells me that he's thinking about selling his 3 week old 15x7 Silver Regamasters for Spoons, because he wasnt black rims again. I asked him what he was asking, and he said since were kool and he really hasnt tried selling them that he'd give me a good deal.
I told him I was interested, and to show my interest I sent him a $100 retainer through Paypal. I told him I could have him the rest in 2 weeks when I got paid. I made it perfectly clear that I would be going into debt to get these rims and the only reason I was doing it because it was such a great deal.
We finally decided on $1000 (Plus the $100 I already sent) and Barely Used 20x8x14 Slicks on Steelies.
~1350-1400 Total Value for the Regamasters (Which he said were 1750 Shipped, New). I thought I was getting a nice deal. Well, 2 weeks later rolls around and I Paypal him the rest of the cash. 700 on my Credit Card and the rest in cash. I get his address and I ship the slicks friday 05\17\02 at a cost of $23.57 (Tracking# 1Z 610 X86 03 1489 906 6) Well, I don't hear from him till monday and 'Sorry dewd, I sent them off today' (05\20\02). He asked me if I wanted the tracking number, but I was at work...So I asked that it be emailed to me. Fast Forward to friday 05\31\02...11 Days after he said they were shipped out. No wheels...What's really bad, is thats the reason I didn't attend the ITR EXPO, because I was pissed off my wheels werent here.
Now, I have to go throught he bullshit with paypal and my credit card and getting a lawyer and ****. Just gonna cost me more $$$ and all I want to do is get the rims that I ******* paid for.
To Jonathan: You have one last chance to regain some integrity...Either ship me my wheels, or credit my paypal account for the money you owe me, and this will go away. You knew that I didn't have alot of cash and I was no rich kid when we talked, yet you still took it upon yourself to **** me. You have ignored my Emails and IM's, but I will get your attention. You seriously screwed over the wrong person, and i'm not just gonna 'let it go'. Like I said...You make this right, I delete this post...You have until monday to make contact, or the ball starts rolling. I wont stop ever. Believe me...

EDIT FOR THE SKEPTICS:
I have contacted him with email and Instant Messages and since then, he has made posts on Honda-Tech, so that kinda rules out the Car Accident. He has been on AOL and has ignored my IM's. If he was being lazy, he would have replied to my email and said so...because I told him that. And about defacing him on a public forum...get fucked outta over a grand, and come back to me. Im pissed.

i understand your pain and all that good **** but do NOT BRING the entire boards attention to this. maybe he has a good reason, what if he was in a car accident? what if someone from his family died? try and contact him privatley before you go defacing him all over H-T. (and if you have, good work. i would do the same thing)

Do you have a tracking number if he sent them? Or is he just sitting on these wheels? Sometimes people just don't want to take their asses to the UPS office, and would rather play video games all day and chill with your $1k...

Im a little confused....i know he said he was bout to give a tracking number, but you werent in a position to write it down......
Have you been in contact with him since to get the tracking number to see where they are....if they are even anywhere...
either way, your wheels should be there by now, so there is 90% chance that he didnt even send them. I know ups screws up all the time.... i guess you really need the tracking number.

Here's what I know.
Jonathan is reliable and honest.
But, I do not know if Jonathan is lazy and takes long time to deal with.
I'd get the tracking number form him asap. That should solve all the problems. If he says he doesn't have the tracking number, then you've got some serious issues with your money and him.

it is very common for UPS to hold shipments of wheels/tires from private parties to verify that they are under the Large Package rules, because they want to be sure to charge the sender the extra fees if they are oversize.
you need to get a tracking number, that will answer your questions. you should have asked for that the day they went out. Also f-trooper should have emailed or phoned you with a message containing the tracking number. It really is his duty to make sure you get your stuff, since he will be the one that can file a report if they go missing.
dontcha think its possible they were stolen from UPS or whoever? I mean those are nice wheels man, it sure is possible. I worked at UPS and there are some sketchy dudes too, so try not to splatter f-troopers name too much, the situation may not be his doing.

Seems like a nice guy, but he *could* be different from what I saw at NOPI.
Try to IM user bakedcookies - he's Chris Gill from B-Troop and is for sure an easy contact with Frostee.
I can't explain why Frostee would not e-mail you back nor AIM you if he is still posting here on H-T - that does seem shady, but at least get the tracking number and see if he's shipped them out in a timely manner.
UPS lost my JDM 4.78 FD, so I ended up with an ATS 4.929 instead, so it's possible for UPS to lose your ****.
