SCAM??? *searched*
I currently have a 91 Mazda 626 for sale in the local newspaper. Tonight when I got home from work I had a message on my answering machine from Phillip (no last name given) at Longwood Industries. He said they're a non-profit internet advertisment placement service. He said what they do is, "select cars in newspapers because cars don't do well in newspapers." It's an $89 fee and it's guaranteed to sell for the asking price. They issue refunds, but have only had to do so a "small handful of times". Has anybody heard of this or what do you guys think?

I got voicemail. The phone # is 1-800-430-1965 - It almost seems as though "Phillip" is the only guy around there. Nothing on Google either.

Re: (JRI94)
I got through. It seems legit, but too expensive. They sell the cars at
http://www.thebiglot.com
http://www.autohopper.com
They're sending a brochure, but too expensive.

Re: (mycivicstoo(s)low)
I never planned on doing it. I'm selling it myself. I just wanted to get the word out that there may be another scam, but after talking on the phone, it seems pretty legit.

If scams seemed like scams, nobody would fall for them. If they were legit, why would their website be one letter off from a known site, and why would they have to email people who already placed ads with other companies? Wouldn't they have a known site? Think, dude.
Edit: I'm not saying they are scammers, just that they have questionable business practices.

Well I obviously thought because I'm not doing it. But to be honest, I didn't even put autohopper and autoshopper together. DUH! You make a good point.
