ok heres the background info.. as far as the eninge goes... all stock internal d16 in my 95 Delsol Si 110,000 had if for the last 20,000 miles... mods include a GSR AEM SRI.. GSR Throttle Body... stock exhaust manifold and 2 1/4 piping to a magnaflow oval with 2 1/4 inlet/outlet OEM spark plugs.. 8.8 mm wires.

question... at idle everything sounds normal.. and above about 5000 rpm it sounds normal but down below it almost sounds like there is a couple little pebbles in my engine... ill try to get a sound clip of it tomorrow if you guys want.. its been doing it for a while doesnt seem to be hindering performance.. oil changes every 3000 or less miles since ive had the car... i honestly dont know.. i dont really wanna rip stuf apart without having at least an idea.. ive taken it by shops and they are like "i dont know, we can take it apart and look at it and tell you but it may cost over $100 just to tell you whats wrong" so im like **** that. if any of you have any clue as to what it could be your ideas will be GREATLY appreciated.

also so i dont have to make another thread.. but my engine also hesitates at crank up.. it usually only hesitates once then starts up from a cold crank. but if the engine is still warm it sometimes hesitate a few times... could it be the 8.8mm wires without having an upgraded ignition... i stuck a multi meter on the battery and it sits at 12.4volts not cranked and 14.3 cranked so the alternator is fine.. and the battery when tested showed no bad cells. could it be the fuel filter? i have not chaged it since i got it.. its like the only thing i havnt changed.. ive changed all the plugs with the same ones honda uses.. new plug wires... but i dont know why it hesitates.. it didnt do it when i first got it.

the only thing that makes me mad about this board is the fact that i can post a "look what i got today" post and get 100 replies and 300 views.. i make a post that is really tech related... and is a real question.. and it gets no replys and like barely any views... what is up with that it makes no sense... anyways

if it sounds like marbles in a coffee can.. it could be detonation. did you look at your plugs? are there little specks on them?

have you check your compression?
