Safe? Snapped rear shock/control arm bolt
Stupid question here, so no need to tell me, but...
I was GOING to put on some new rear shocks, but i snapped the lower control arm / shock bolt. About 2mm came off with the bolt head. Is this something i need to take care of immediately i.e. don't drive at all except to the shop to get it fixed, or is it relatively safe for the time being? I know i read that someone in the archives just found their bolt snapped off, but he was still driving around... any opinions?

if it was just the bolt head....you might be ok for about 20 miles, but i'd think it would try to unthread itself....get it replaced asap.....i wouldnt risk it on the freeway

I drove around on mine, the head sheared off right at the edge of the shock. It lasted fine until we swapped out the entire LCA. I wouldnt suggest it though.....
