safc change fuel too?
i know the vafc ( always thought) it stood for vtec/ air/ fuel/ controller ..... and thought the safc was Super Air Fuel Controller..... i keep seeing they say air/flow converter..... the is the apexi safc too....
so can i adjust air and fuel with apex safc? any tunning advantages to the safcII?
i need to know FAST before my mom buys the wrong thing for me for x-mas.... thanks

The SAFC allows you to make fuel adjustment, while the VAFC controls the VTEC crossover as well. I believe the newer SAFC and VAFC both offer a bit more adjustability, in more increments.

well i have a 96 dx boosted, i wanted the safc to adjust fuel with bigger injectors.. and tune it...... but i kept seeing they were air flow converters... not air fuel controllers... making sure the ones that say air flow converter is really what i need. thanks

But you do have to be careful when dealing with aftermarket cams and ECU upgrades, as the VTEC crossover may need to be moved further up, to avoid bogging with bigger cams.

Yeah, if it's non-vtec, just pick up the SAFC or SAFC II and you're good to go.

Depends on the set up. With larger cams, moving the crossover up becomes necessary. With smaller cams, a factory crossover is usually fine.

thats very true
I was just basing my statement on a safc or a vfac as a entry level tuner. Once cams and compression and **** like that starts changing... it's time for sum HONDATA!

I'm starting to feel that way also, I think Hondata is more versatile, especially only being a bit more in price.

Re: (rodrez)
o, hondata was wonderful. i had it on my red eg hatch on my last turbo setup. i loved how nice it made tunning, and the power i gained from it... how you could add fuel or whatever at exactly a certain rpm spot to bring up one little low spot... i just cant afford it right now...

Re: (JICEK9)
i plan on having hondata once again... but only if i decide to build another engine.. it was nice on my eg... i think it had a lot of help getting me to that 200whp / 195 wtrq mark at 10psi on a smic and stock internal engine....
come spring ill either gets some better rods for the block i have out back, better piston rings, new bearings blah blah.. slightly bigger turbo than the sohc greddy (15g?) .. and get a y8 head for it... then hondata ... nice came.. slight P+P.. see if we can run about 15psi daily.. be a hell of a sleeper for a d-series...
i wish i could afford to buy a obd-2 LS swap with b16 tranny...then boost that. but the ol SOHC will hold me over fine..
what is the right price? my mom is the one buying it.... but ill let her know if she hasnt bought one already.
