Default s21 b16 trans

ok guys im looking for some info on my trans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i recently swapped out the motor in my 94 canadian si coupe(d16z6)
for a b20vtec, and it has a rhd eg6 b16 trans which is really really close geared!!!!!!!
my question is why do people say that the usdm em1 trans are the same gear ratio as my s21?????????
i had an em1 and driving 60mph means 3000rpm
in my ej1 driving 60mph means 3500rpm
whats the difference??????????????????????????????????
