---S2000 seats into ek hatch question. (already looked at FAQ)---
Before I get flamed, I already saw the FAQ write up on it.

I bought new seats for my s2k and want to put the stockers in my ek hatch. Instead of stripping everything down like in the thread, cant I just cut the the mounting tabs off the stock civic ceats and weld them on the s2000 seat sliders?? If their lined up perfect, they should mount the seat down. I can live with them not recling foward as much as a civic seat.
Just trying to avoid completely tearing them apart to switch skins.

I dont see why you couldn't do it, however, I've heard that a weld isn't as strong as if the piece were still a whole piece. So this would put you at more of a risk in a accident or something where the seat rail that's been welded could break as opposed to where a factory (non-welded) rail wouldn't break.
But I'm not an expert on this so I really don't know, just giving you my thoughts since no one else has yet.

well a rail swap is a no go yes, because the rails don't match up unless you swap the seat pan.
and yes you can bend the tabs, but then you only have 3 of 4 bolts which is a huge safety hazard. Honestly, when I get my S2K seats I'm going to swap the whole pan, its the safest way to go I think.
But I do emphasize, I am not an expert on this.
