V-AFC = S-AFC + VTEC controller.

V-AFC is to tune your VTEC engagement point. It is also used to tune your air and fuel ratio. Could be used on SOHC and DOHC VTEC motors and also depends on how built your motor is (cylinder head and block).

S-AFC is to tune your air and fuel ratio depending on how built your motor is (cylinder head and block).

Both DEFINITELY need to be tuned at a professional place with a dyno.

Expanded, if you have a ton of internal mods, high compression, etc. Get a standalone like Hondata, AEM, etc.

The SAFC is primarily for non VTEC Honda motors, since it doesn't require the VTEC function. They also tend to be cheaper.

SAFC is for non VTEC motors period, not just honda motors...

Does your engine have vtec? You don't HAVE to change your vtec settings, but you should NOT use a VAFC on a non-vtec engine. Use a SAFC for non-vtec engines.

To summarize, VTEC engine = SAFC or VAFC
non-VTEC engine = SAFC ONLY...

Does that mean a V-AFC won't work on a non-vtec engine?

I'm not sure...if you have a VAFC but don't have VTEC, just throw the VAFC up on eBay or something and pick up a SAFC...you will probably make a few extra bucks in the process

You wouldn't be able to hook up all the wires for the VAFC, since there is no VTEC oil pressure sensor wire, and no VTEC solenoid, so as I said quite clearly

Boost controller - no

Electronic boost gauge - YES!

What a deal huh? AFC plus a free electronic boost gauge

Does it actually have a boost gauge, or can you just use the MAP sensor readout as one?

yes you can, but you'll be better off with a SAFC. also, i hear that the SAFC has more tuning capabilities then the VAFC offers.
