Default RX7 turbo mated to B16A...is it possible

Ok well let me start off by saying, I searched and found a few topics, and I know off the bat that anything can be done with the right amount of money. I purchased an '88 RX7 TubroII about two years ago that wasn't running and that has alot of other small problems, so my dad and I decided to drop a FORD 302 in it, which currently isn't complete. So with that, the old 13B-T is coming out and that means one used turbo too, pardon the pun! Anyway, I've spun the the turbo and checked for shaft play and everything seems ok.

My question is, is the turbo that comes on these 2nd gen RX's compatible with my B16A? I'm more than for sure that it boosts more psi than the B can handle, but with the addition of a boost controller, can this tubro be a safe addition? Are the specs comparable to a turbo that would normally be used on a B-series motor? Can anyone tell me if this has ever been done?

I know most of you want to suggest me just selling this turbo and buying one suited for my engine, but I really don't want to go out and buy a new turbo. I have this one here and I'd really like to, if you will, ghetto-rig it to work with this engine. I just see an opportunity right in front of me and I can't pass it up. Oh yeah by the way, if anyone has any specs on the this particular unit, i.e. how many psi, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanx in advance to anyone who posts back.

all you have to do is take the a B16A turbo header and the RX7 header to any muffler shop, have them cut the flanges off and swap them around. it shouldnt cost more than 50 bills (depending on the shop). If need be let me know and ill ask a few friends of mine for any feed back.

i had an 87 turbo 7... they pushed like 6.2 PSI stock... i've seen alot of guys run alot of boost off of them and more with rebuilds but because of the fuel cut off problem of the 7s you couldn't run more then 10 PSI on the rotory motor with out giving up reliability. I HATE YOU PEOPLE THAT PUT V8s IN rx7s... the 13bt has so much more potential... and is so much more fun.... if i had a frame i'd buy that t2 motor off of you...

Don't be a hater! It just cost so much to rebuild a 13B. It's like $2400 for a new block alone, and the 302 that we bought was $50.

But anyway that's off topic. So 6.2 psi is ok for a stock bottom end B16A ehe? anyone?

If it does in fact boost only 6.2 psi stock, then yes that's fine. do a search, check out the FI forum on here, and also check out http://www.junkyardturbo.com . Good luck and I wanna see picks of that RX7 when it's done!

I asume you mean the V8-RX7 correct. I will, but can't tell you how long it will be. I can show you pics of the car and the 302 seperate, but the motor isn't even in yet.
