Which engine rebuild Kit will fit my Del Sol 1992?
Hi guys,
I have a 92 Del Sol running on a VTEC D15B JDM motor and i have been searching rebuild kits on ebay for upgrading to forged pistons and rings etc. however most of the rebuild kits are not compatible with the "JDM" D15b VTEC.
According to other blogs, researched that if there is no number on the engine ID (i.e. D15b1 D15b2 D15b7 .....) the engine is Japanese If I am not wrong?
So i need to know which one of the USDM rebuild kit would be compatible to the JDM D15b ?

Bumping a 6 year old thread is much more likely to get you unpleasant answers than waiting patiently is. We have rules for a reason. Please re-read and respect them.
A little bit of research would show that the D15B VTEC has the same bore as the D16Z6. Your head code is also that of a D16Z6 casting. The rod length is also the same, but the stroke is slightly smaller on the D15B. That would lead the average person to believe that a rebuild kit for the D16Z6 would work, but you might need to source different crank bearings.
These are all best guesses based off of simple research, though. It's part of the "JDM tax". If you want a foreign motor, you need to be prepared to put in a little more effort than the average person in sourcing parts. Fun fact: Put "D15B VTEC rebuild kit" into Google, and the first result is a company that sells everything you need, with a phone number you can call to make sure it's what you need.
