Default Running a d15z1 on uberdata?

Here's the scoop, I have a d16z6 with p28 chipped ecu. The engine burns oil so I was going to get a d15z1 for FREE. Problem is that it needs an ecu which is why the guy is just giving it to me.

I have searched on the uberdata forums and found nothing about a bin for a p07 (92-95 VX). Does anyone know if it is possible to run the d15z1 effeciently with a chipped p28?

The problems I foresee are: Vtec E and the wideband O2. (change out the O2 and not worry about vtec engagement? or what?)

set the VTEC engagement point for 3000 RPM, like a stock VX's....that simple.

I ran my Y5 (essentially a Z1....same priciple) fine with a chipped P28. Of course, I rewired my car for 4wire oxygen sensor.

I was thinking Turbo D15Z1... I originally thought that the z1's vtec point is at multiple points. (I think I'm wrong..)

I guess we'll try a p07 bin and work it out from there. Anyone happen to have one?

your question has been answered.

run the d15z1 with the correct ecu.

timing maps on the d15z1 are COMPLETELY different from d16z6 maps.

Simple, go to PGMFI and find the P07-L01 or P07-L02 bin. Use that in your P28. That bin is for the California models which didn't use a wideband O2 sensor. They just used a 4 wire.

The 5 wire bin will not work at all in a P28 or any other ecu except the P07-A## ecus.

Can be done. I did it with my Y5 the first time. Worked okay. actually but there is no need. The price of the VAFC can get you a chipped ECU with a vast amount of options. I went witht eh VAFC the first time because I didnt want to rewire my wiring harness for a 4wire among other things. VAFC's are worthless when you have chipped ECU's. An uberdata (or like program) basemap will probably work better than a VAFC
