Default RSR exhaust ticking?

Ok, I know I'm in the wrong forum but there aren't too many knowledgeable accord people. I put on an RSR ExMag exhaust a couple weeks ago and ever since it "ticks" much louder then my stock exhaust did when it's cooling down. I can even here it ticking in the car after getting off the highway at a stop light. Is this normal for a new exhaust? Or is this common with RSR exhausts? The one thing I'm worried about is I threw away the stock spring bolts because they were rusted pretty bad and used plain bolts to fasten the exhaust together. Someone who I trust told me the spring bolts are primarily for controlling vibration and aren't to allow heat expansion like I once thought. Is my exhaust slowly destroying itslef becaue I didnt use spring bolts or is my hearing just too sensitive?
Thanks for any help

don't worry about it its your catalytic coveter, its totally normal, the hotter it gets the louder the ticks will be when you turn it off.

Sorry, I forgot to mention, I dont have a cat anymore. I guess that might cause the exhaust to get hotter though?

I have the exact same problem with my RSR Ex-Mag for my EH which I put on about a month ago, so I'd like to know as well if this is normal or not.

mine does it as well. I'm wondering if the ceramic coating causes it. also check to make sure that all of your exhaust bolts are still tight. Mind was ticking pretty loud and I found that I had lost a few bolts A little loctite took care of that.

My EX mag clicks too but only when the car is off, not when it's on. I've had it on for almost a year now and it still does it so I don't think it's going to stop. I'm pretty sure it comes from the muffler itself, but not sure.

i think its all the metal unside either the muffler or the car, ticking loudly as it cools and contracts. ???

my girlfriends moms cadillac tangs loudly from teh exhaust after she turns it off. could make sense.... heat expand, cold contract etc... no?

Is the ticking normal also while the car is running? For example, while idle at a stop light it would just start ticking.

The ticking is most noticeable after the car has been turned off. Its the normal metal expanding/contracting ticking that you hear from a lot of vehicles. On occassion, I can hear it while at a stock or going through a drive through, but only because I listen for it. Its a normal sound, I've heard plenty of other vehicles doing it.

The ticking sound on my RS*R comes from the resonator. Everytime i come to a stop or i shut the car off i hear it. When i come home and go to my room i still could hear it out my window I guess its normal though since most of us owners experience it.

I had a thread about this a few days ago. I just got my Apexi N1 on with piping from the cat back with a resonator. Im guessing you guys are right about it being the resonator. I didint have one on my last exhaust but now it ticks like a mo fo. Really anoying. I thought at 1st it was just when I turned the car off and got out. But i was at a light and i herd it and also at the drive threw. So im guessing it happends 24/7 except when the car is off and cooled.
