Default RS*R EX-MAG GTII Exhaust, clearance w/ CTR rear lip??

As the topic states, I have the GTII exhaust on my 2000 Hatchback. I really want a CTR rear lip, but I dont know if its gonna clear the exhaust tip. (My gut feeling is "no".) I'd hate to buy a $300 rear lip and find out it isnt clear. Hell would freeze over before i'd switch exhaust systems. I love my RS*R too much. Post pics or estimations when you can.

my friend has a similar set up. he went to autozone and bought rubber lowering hangers. lowered it about an inch and it cleared fine.

You know...I wondered if that might work. Figured someone had to make a slightly lower hanger. Only would need maybe an inch or 1.5''

Hmm....

just be careful if your slammed, an inch and half can make a big difference in scraping clearance

make sure the exhaust is decently far away from the lip when you put it on. mine was close, but not touching and i ended up melting the lip. i was PISSED

It's a sweet exhaust. It was hanging wrong in that picture, it's actually closer to the body now.... so it's 4 inches off of the ground instead of 3 I had a SLIGHT touch on the lip because my lip hangs lower than it should by a little. All I did was put 1 inch PVC in my hanger. If it all hangs right, you will not rub, but it will be snug. This is an actual JDM Honda CTR rear lip. Hope it helps! PM me with your email addy and I'll snap some updated pics for you.

And thanks for answering my question about the ASR plate clearing! That's my next mod!

D50boy, thanks for posting that up! What did you mean by PVC? Like a piece of pipe in side the hanger to make it stretch?? Kinda lost on that one. Sweet set up man. Thanks again. If you wouldnt mind shooting me some more pics to my e-mail; quicksilverej6@aol.com I'd like to see that lip and muffler from a few different angles.

LOL Thats what I have, kinda. I have Koni's, the ASR plate and ITR bar and just installed the new Omnipower LCAs. I was curious if that champagne color was gonna jive but it looks great. Mean as hell looking under carriage. I'll post up some pics as soon as the weather clears up.

By far the one of my favorite exhausts. Old roomate had it on his EK. He wanted to do a rear lip but didnt wanna deal with it hitting or melting.

I would destroy that exhaust on my car, with the drop I have it would probably be on the ground Looks good though

No joke bringing back from the dead. I've since added the SRR LCAs and the ASR Brace/ITR sway.

To answer the question, yes, the non-canister style should be perfectly fine. They made it for the CTR in the first place.
