Icon2 RPMs arent going pass 5200

So... I see this problem alot but never seem to find a outcome.. I did my research checked sites and so fourth... But anyways on to my details and etc.... I own a 2000 EK Hatch with a JDM D15B 3Stage.... Car was automatic which I converted to 5-Speed... Running a 99 EX 5 Speed ECU (P2P-A12) - Problems: Check Engine Light on.. took to diag. saids O2 Sensor on exhaust which with 99-00 EKs there's 2 O2 Sensors.. One on Headers which is plugged up and other on Exhaust which isnt plugged due to straight pipe no cata... But my major concern at this moment is.. My Car will not go any further then 5200 RPMS... Other sites are saying Timing <---- Did that then there's ECU <------ Did that... So... I'm here to ask what could this problem possibly be. Because I have yet to find an answer... Would highly appreciate it.. & thank you for your time... God Bless.

You did what? The isn't the ECU you're supposed to be running. P2J.

Do a Google search. You'll see the P2J is the ECU you're supposed to be running for that engine. Those are not plug and play engines and you will never get that thing to run error free without one. And kind of search will back up what I'm telling you. Short of getting an OBD1 ECU running something like Hondata to trick VTEC into working properly you're going to be SOL.

So let me try to understand this. You KNOW that the ECU you are using is not the one you are supposed to be running. Logically you should start by addressing that.

I can't tell the future so if you think something BESIDES getting the right ECU will fix all your problems then please pursue it.

In the YEARS I've seen people posting about this engine they always have issues because they refuse to get the correct ECU. Obviously you not running a second O2 sensor is going to be an issue not solved by any ECU change out.

That 5200 RPM limit is probably where VTEC is supposed to be working. Don't know how you expect those VTEC stages to kick in when the ECU you have isn't programmed for them.

Good luck.
