RPM vs. Heater???????
I have a 97 Civic EX coupe, (stock D16Y8) and recently i have noticed that my heater will not blow hot air until i hold my RPM's up above 3k or so for a few seconds? My engine heats up correctly and the blower motor blows strong. It just blows cold air, until i get the rpms up for a bit. After that, it seems to work fine. Anyone had a similar problem or know WTF this might be? Any help would be super, it's gettin freakin cold here!

may be a far shot, but check the hoses on the firewall, make sure they are not getting pinched.
do you have any water leaking under the dash or do you smell a wet molding smell any time?

IDK If This Happens With Eks But My Eg Had The Little Hose Nozzle Opener Thing Whatever Its Called On The Heater Hose Going From The Heater Core To The Block It Controls A Little Valve That Allows The Antifreeze To Get Into The Heater Core The Little Metal Peice That Slides On There (Its in The Engine Bay And Easy To Acces) Might Have Slid Off. Just Put It Back On It Will Work Again

There is a difference between somebody having a certain hair color or wearing a certain brand of shoes and somebody not using basic grammar/syntax when they type.
However, it appears that you've now conformed with the rest of us, so it's not a big deal.

It just makes it hard and awkward to read without extra effort, that's all. If you're going to type like that you might as well not even bother posting, because likely people are just going to skip reading it because it's annoying trying to read it... I know I sure didn't bother trying to read it. lol

Wow. How about you ladies find somewhere else to bicker about the capitalized letters in a sentence! Also, Please fully read my original post before commenting. As stated, YES, my car heats up to normal working temp just fine. It just dousn't blow hot air until i hold the RPM's up around 3k for a few seconds, after reaching proper engin temp. To "Wrenchez81", my coolant level is fine, Thermostat was just replaced and is functioning properly. I checked all the obvious sollutions first! For "THC07" and "JC Chavez55", There is now water leaking or any saturation inside or outside the car. I'll definately take your advice and check the hoses though. Maybe (hopefully) it's a simple fix. Thanks.
