Re: RPM/speed SI d16 sohc (B serious)
Well if I have a different transmission then you that would mean that I have the correct transmission that came with the z6/y8. So what are you trying to say then that you not wrong and I am not right, we are both wrong and both right? You are not being very clear on what you are trying to say here.

Well, equipment levels in cars change from country to country. Candians have DRL for example. They have different motors in cars dubbed "si". They have an acura 1.6el that looks to be a Civic EX coupe. So it wasnt too outlandish of me to assume that MAYBE you have different transmissions. I said that the US Si trans that i had in attached to my D16Z6 from a 93 honda del sol ran around 3000 rpm in 5th at 60. I had 205-50-15 tires. If im not mistaken, thats almost the exact same sizing as a Del sol Si's 195-60-14.
Never said anything about you or anyone else being wrong. I was just stating what I had. I also said MANY times the exact car my motor came from. A 93 USDM del sol Si.
Then you went on to call me a retard.
That was the sequence of events.

Actually Si hatch is the same for the US and Canada. Also the 1.6 EL is equivalent to an EX sedan not coupe. Also the Del sol Si and any Si or Ex have the same engine and transmission as the US. Although it would help if you were running the right size tire for you car! For any pre 96 civic you would be running 195-50-15 and not your 205-50-15. See the accuracy of your tach and speedometer are a little off!
Del Sol Si has 185-60-14. You should always get the right size tire for your car and not your engine where ever it might of come from.

But if i was running a bigger tire, that would mean that my speed would go up and my RPM would drop. Like having higher gears. I dunno, maybe the JDM cluster i had in that car was a little off. Im also pretty sure that 185/60/14 equates out better to 205/50/15 than 195/50/15. But i could be wrong. I work at a tire shop, so i'll check out the exact measurements of those tire/wheel combos since i dont feel like doing the mathzors. I have a T-Bone to grill.

Re: RPM/speed SI d16 sohc (B serious)
Actually if you are going 60 mph, with 195-50-15 you would be doing 59.85 mph where as with 205-50-15 you would be doing 60.9 mph.
195-50-15= -0.15 mph off
205-50-15= 0.90 mph off
So ya it make a difference and 195-50-15 is the better choice too go. Although you can run 205-50-15 but really you won't get any benefits from it except a your acceleration will be a tad slower!
