just like dc 5 says it sounds like a horrible clutch problem cause if it was ur tranny beleive me you would know. also while ur changing your clutch out change your rear main seal its behind the flywheel on the block around the crankshaft. make sure you have degreaser just incase it is your rear main seal and there is oil everywhere.

if the motor is accelorating, and the speed isnt, then its the mechanical link between the tranny and the motor, which would be your clutch.

He means the link from the motor to the tranny which is the clutch. The purpose of a clutch is to transfer the power from the motor to the transmission. If the clutch is slipping, it will not be able to transfer that power to the transmission to gain speed.

Let us know once you get it fixed. It helps to know the conclusion of thread situations. Specially for searchers.

when u pull ur trans check 2 c if there is oil in there (there's supposed no oil casue the clutch has to stay dry) but change the seal any way while ur in there casue if ur car has over 100k more then likely no one has change it. u can tell if its bad cause the rubber will be hard well good luck be sure to torque things down 2 spec

Check the simple things first:

- Re-fill/bleed the clutch system
- Replace the slave cylinder

My guess:

Sounds to me like your flywheel needs replacing though. Don't let a shop machine those down! Get a new one, a lightweight one. The reason i don't think it's you're clutch is because it isn't slipping. I'm pretty sure it's your flywheel.

EDIT: Also replace the seal, what's most likley happening is the seal is busted, spraying fluid everywhere inside the casing. If you pop it open and see this, replace both the seal and the flywheel. Might as wel replace the clutch while you're at it, but I don't believe that's your problem.

could just be fluid.... check the fluids, i had a brake leak and it left no fluid for the clutch same thing revved out and went nowhere
