It all depends on how your needle is off, If its off by say 200 at the 1-2000rpm range and more so at a higher range then your kinda sol and have to get a new guage, (Not expensive at all - I got a new cluster for $50) Now if its off consistantly at say 500rpm no matter what theres some hope. Check out my other post https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=851492 for some help, obviously you cant use every methode listed in there for the RPM gauge but its a start.....

good idea..i never would have thought of that.. i hope it works. at idle my gauge reads 0rpm..at vtec..it engages about 6k-6.2k(i forgot)..the vtec suppose to engage at 5.5k rpm. even though i have no tools, i will have to keep testing and ajusting it until i get my vtec to engage at 5.5k rpm. any more other idea on how to fix it would help..thanks

If you dont have much for the tools i would propably sagest getting a new cluster. like i said i got a del sol cluster for $50 so a civic must be cheaper considering Sols parts a bit harder to come by because there not interchangble with anything but Sols, and even then its somewhat limited based on the yr becaue of the changes made to them in 95. Even so its not that hard to make something work in your situation. The cluster i got was for a 93 and mine was 95 (Different style Clock and fuel/temp) so i switched out the speedo and rpm into my cluster casing and it works great..... Cept i forgot to put the stuiped condoms back on and now my gauge looks orangigh red at night so i need to get off my lazy **** and just order some new leds ive been wanting to try. (Blue)
