Default Royal Purple Oil

i tryed this oil a while back ago and really didnt think much of it...so i ran a search on what other thought and some people said its worth it, that motor runs smoother, a bit of HP gain and was dyno proved, internals stay clean like if the motor was never started...and others said it worthless, waist of money, blah blah blah...all the threads i found were old and i wanted to know if anyone here has knowledge on this an what you guys think about....

I know that there was an oil test done not to long ago and actually out of the full synthetic oils Royal Purple didn't score that high. It was actually near the bottom of the list.

I really like Motul. I have been using it for 2 years now and I can't complain. It makes my car run really smooth. I run 5w40.

I have experimented with it and didn't really see any justification for paying 7 bucks for "performance oil". I can vouch for Mobile 1 though. I pulled apart a customes D16 for a build that had run Mobile 1 during it's 200,000 stock motor life and the motor looked like it only had 10,000 miles on it. All the bearings were in perfect shape. IMO RP is not worth the extra money. Also most oils "give" you horsepower (if you can call it that) by being thinner (read less protection). But that is just my .02

ok...so i went threw every page in that thread an just used the FIND funtion (ctrl + F) and searched for ROYAL...anyway...i really didnt get much info, just alot of "i use Royal Purple "...but there was one post where some guy went to some race or something and everyteam that was racing were using REDLINE oil but there was one team with alot ROYAL PURPLE stuff (promotional i guess) but the guy didnt see the team use the Royal Purple oil...the bottles always stay full, no empty ones what so ever...but alot of REDLINE empty bottles...they were prob sponsored or something..dont know...anyways...i guess Redline is the way to go...but they said it Redline was even more expensive then Royal Purps....

any more comments??

im also using this to see exactly what oil i should use when i break-in my LSVTEC build...well...when it comes to it...i dont mind spending the $$$ for Redline, as long as its the best i can feed the motor...

anything else guys???suggestion i guess??

love my penzoil . cost me less than $15 to do an oil change + filter. you don't really need those expensive oil if your car is a daily driver. stick with mobile 1.

I think it sucks *****, first its expensive and i rather trust mobile1, secondly my boy blew his D15B when he did an oil change with the stuff, IDK if he got the wrong oil or what but the **** popped a day later after putting the purple **** in his ride.

I haven't begun to use it in my GSR'd Civic (waiting for 10K after the rebuild to come around), but my dad swears by it.

We run it in my mom's '96 Accord(with 185K), my dad's '94 Pathfinder (with 215K), my sister in law's '06 Accord, my brother's '84 300ZX turbo, and we recommend it to all customers and have YET to have one complaint.

The guy that delivers it has said that he's heard of one case where it caused a problem...problem being a bad mixture of oil...that's caused an engine to pop, but that's possible with ANY oil.

Royal Purple gets from me
