rough take off and hesitation
Hey everyone, i recently had the d15b7 out of my del sol swapped into a 93 ex shell. Everything was alright until i started to drive when i noticed that when taking off in first the rpms dip down to about 200 or so and the car tries to die and i have to step harder on the gas and it'll take off. Also when crusing in any other gear if i let it get to about 2000 rpms it starts to hesitate until i push harder. I went ahead and cleaned the iacv and fitv valves and that seemed to help out some ( this fixed the bouncing idle issue it had). Anyways i checked any codes it had and it has a code 03 which is mpa sensor. Well i looked and i cannot find this thing at all its not on the throttle body or mounted on the firewall where it should be, i also cannot locate the plug for the map sensor. Anyone have any ideas on what to do about this problem its really aggravating trying to drive this thing any help would be great. Also im gonna change the plugs today and try to get the gas out with some regular the car was 3/4 full of cam 2 110 octane when i got it, so i dont know if that fouled my plugs or has anything to do with it. Thanks a lot.

Well if you're car does'nt have a map sensor then it will do exactly what you're describing. So locate the plug (it's got to be somewhere) and get a map sensor.

well i looked and there is absolutely nothing i checked for a good half hour. the whole section which the map is mounted on the firewall is missing and the plug for it is nowhere i went over the harness up and down. i have no clue on what to do about it.

Heres the picture. I went to the junk yard today and got the whole assembly today that had the map sensor and what looks to be another evap valve on it. Now im just stuck as to there is no plug for the map anywhere i looked for an hour even removed the battery to see if it was hiding behind it still nothing. I dunno how this works but would i be able to mabye splice wires into the ecu harness somewhere and then hook them into the map, cause i have the plug for the one i just got.

well i think i figured it out. i looked up the ecu pinouts and figured out what wires in the harness i need to splice into for this mpa sensor plug i got. gonna try it out tomorrow and hook up the vacuum from the map to the spot that is plugged in the picture above. should work hopefully. update tomorrow.
