sol of a honda

i have a 93 del sol with the d16z6. the motor idle's rough and it seems to be choking it self out. i rev the motor and it runs fine, as soon as i let off the gas the rpms drop and continue to do so until it shuts off. so far i have replaced many parts and cleaned up the rest. replaced: head gasket (the whole set, intake, valves, etc) new plugs and wires. i have adjusted the valves to spec (.020 and .030), taken apart and cleaned the fitv and the other idle valve (cant think of the name now). still the problem persists. now i noticed when i turn the dist. to retard the timing (clockwise) it cuts out and won't start up again. when placed in the middle, it will run but not start in this position. and then when i fully turn it to advance the timing (counter clockwise) it will start and run. problem is its a rough idle some of the time and still cuts out when reved. any suggestions? i can't think any more lol

sounds like a map sensor try to find a known good working one and see if it fixes teh porblem... g/l

Is the CEL on?

Have you replaced the PCV valve?

Jump the service connector, hook up a timing gun, and adjust the ignition to spec (pointer aligned with red mark on crank pulley).
