Rough idle...redux
Well, I found out why the civic is idling rough--the #4 plug wire is popping up from the head. When I push it down, it seams to seat fine, then as soon as I stop the car again, it's sticking up about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch. The car idles great with the plug wire attached, but the wire will not stay down. Anyone else have this problem or know what to do??? I was thinking about clamping down on the bottom of the wire boot where the wire meets the plug. Thanks in advance.

Make sure there is enough slack in the wire for it to reach without it pulling itself off.
If there is enough slack, make sure the connection is fairly clean. (no oil or sludge buildup that would cause it to slip off) -- also make sure there's no debris in the way.
If it's still coming off, you can try making the clamp tighter so that it grips the plug harder.

I checked the slack in the wire a bunch of times, as well as the connection and it's clean. ??? I guess I'll take the pliers to it. Thanks
