Rotor scratches on caliper...
92 civic DX Hatchback...
A few weeks ago i had a broken axle boot... So, i bought me a Honda OEM boot, some good o' cv joint grease, and repaired the sucker (good lord i hate repairing the outer boot!!!) After repairing it i went for a ride and hear a **scratch, scratch** noise... I put my car back in the garage and check... Its my rotor scratching againts the caliper... I thought okay my rotor has been wayyy to thin for a while so i ordered some Brembo Blanks , and some pads...
a week later i get my stuff, and get to work... After finishing i go for a ride, and it still scratches... I thought okay i have air in my lines... I bleed my brakes according to my Helm's... Again i got out for a spin and it still scratches... I take my caliper off and check if my piston is functioning... it gradually closes not sure if thats the way its suppose to work...
After bleeding my brakes 3 times (geez the scissor jack is a work out) i have given up, I think i might need a new caliper? anybody have any suggestions or input?
Only the drivers side caliper scratches, the passenger side works fine...
thanx,
Angel

Re: (frankdatank)
its not the dust shield, i checked that... the actual caliper inside is scratching, it has the marks on my new Brembos and on the caliper....

Re: (Philip)
I checked today... its not the lil metal brackets for the pad, but what is scratching is the bolts that hold the caliper in, and the whole inside caliper it self where the bolts are...
Im thinking its a bad caliper...
