A few months back my friend with a B16 misshifted from 5th to 2nd and he says the engine went up to about 10,500rpm. His bottom end was stock and he had a fully built head with Skunk2 everything. I was suprised at first that something didn't break right when that happened, but here is the odd part, about three months later, he was driving on the freeway at about 70mph and a rod snapped in half right in the middle. He is convinced that the misshift and the rod breaking in two pieces are connected but I am not so sure. Wouldn't it of happened earlier? Has this happened to anyone else?

its most likely because of the misshift but theres no way it went up to 10,500 unless he has no rev limiter. which is just retarded
