rocker arm question
yeah.. i was at work the other day and a fan of domestics asked me about my car. told him i have internal work and mentioned cams. he asked if i replaced the rocker arms with new ones mentioning that they are worn to the stock cams. when i install new cams i should install new rocker arms. anyone have any input on this subject.

Re: rocker arm question (mastakmk)
Its not needed for us. If he's old school domestic then he has push-rods and many of them switch out for roller-rockers and something else like flat tappet rockers and new push rods.

exactly. i have built many small block chevies w/ my dad and roller rockers are used along with mechanical lifters and push rods that will become worn to the cam BECAUSE it isnt an overhead cam motor... it is a single cam between the heads. roller rockers, roller lifters and strengthened push rods are the only way to go when building a domestic because they use bigger cam profiles on highly build motors and need the extra for RPM.

old school domestics are a whole different ball game and should never be compared to a honda when building it.... i have build both engines and they have the same part.... NAMES, lol. building a small block chevy is a cup of tea compared to a honda.... and the swap is even easier. haha

As far as I know, the only rule for Honda rocker arms is to keep the sets installed together so that the wear patterns are consistent. Most people never replace rocker arms in Honda engines.
