D16A has a vtec solenoid, but no actual vtec internals...that's an odd little motor.

Are you talking about the little hollowed out hex head that the rocker arm sits in? It's called the oil passage orifice assembly. They appear to be the same, as far as I can tell from parts catalogs.

I count five bolts, yes.

So in your first post, you said one of the oil passage orifice assemblies (rocker arm holder) was damaged, too? The rocker arm just sits on top of it - you can easily pull the rocker arm out, remove the oil passage orifice assembly, install a new one, and reinstall your rocker arm. Just make sure you do a valve lash adjustment afterwards.

Yes, you should be able to use the OPOAs from the D16A. I honestly don't know where the solenoid is on the D16A, but I'd imagine it's where they usually are - right in front of the distributor.
