rings sealed, good compression...still smoking sometimes.
i have a b18 ls swap in my 98 ek hatch. broke car in nice and good. checked compression a few times over the past couple of months, and still burning oil(about a quart every 2-4 weeks), and when I add the necessary quart, or change the oil, it'll smoke screen for a lil' while after i drive it some. had a 3-angle valve job, and new valve seals put in when i had my head p&p'd and resurfaced. could i be looking at a leaking valve(s), or head problem somewhere? talked to a few shops, and tuner folks, and was told it's probably either the rings didn't seal up(but holding even compression on all cylinders), or that it's acting like they didn't lap the valves back in when they replaced the seals and did the 3-angle, and that that will cause it to blow air up through the valves, and let oil leak down to the combustion chamber. does that sound feasable to anyone. plus, i have to reset and retighten my valves about once a month. never had that problem before with any other honda. can anyone give me any insight to this. it's gotten really old, and is really embarrassing when it smokes like it does...it's BAD! if anyone can help, please do. Thanks!

you said you did a compression check.
I would start with a leak down test to see where the oil is coming from that is being dumped in the exhaust.

oh yeah, also, i'm running je 9.0:1 pistons w/Nippon Gas Nitride coated rings, made for boost/nitrous applications, and i've been running na for a couple months. Just got my turbo kit completed, and going on this weekend(hopefully). read a thread on here or evans tuning about someone having rings made for a turbo app., and said they had a lil' more end gap to allow for more expansion from the heat of a turbo'd engine. make sense to anyone? that a possibility? but still showing even compression on all 4's?
