RIMS 16's or 15's???
about to get some new foot wear (is that right?) for my slow civic. im currently on gsr 15's.
one thing i dont like about 15's is that the tire size is a bit smaller than stock, so my speedo
is a bit off. 4-6mph at 60. also it looks small.
something i dont like about 16's are the weight, cost of tires. i think that is it.
what do you guys think? i like to take the turns and will be doin some road racing at sears.
im thinking of getting some slips cause its cheap.

Re: RIMS 16's or 15's??? (Mr. Choi)
go with 15's
you can solve your problems with the tires buy just going with a 205 50 15 wich will give you damn neat close to the stock overall size. in most cases those tires metioned above will be cheaper then stock replacement sized tires.

yea im on 205/50/15's right now. on new tires im off like 4 mphs. when it wears down
(diameter of tires reduced) my speedo is off even more. so i dont know wtf. with 16's i can
get a tire that is alittle bigger than stock, which i dont mind. also it'll have a shorter side-wall.
i dont know, fak.

Its early and I'm sleepy, so maybe I'm missing something, but why don't you just get the right sized tire? If 205/50 is too small, then sounds like you need 195/55. I doubt that you will notice the difference in width in your handling. There are 2 schools of thought when the tire size is close like this. Some say wider is better. Some say that with a narrower tire, you get more force per square inch of contact patch which is directly related to friction (i.e. stickyness).
Anyways, I went from 205/45r16 to 195/55r15 and I'm very happy with the new setup. Also have a better selection of tires in 15s, and tires are cheaper.

correct me if i'm wrong, but aren't the diameter's of most 16" tires greater overall than that of 15"? this would mean your speedo would be even more off right? also, the stock speedo sucks anyways - even with the stock tires.
i don't know though, all of that ^ was just some stupid thoughts that ran through my tired head.
i say get 15s. the benefits of the 15s outweigh the disadvantages - looks alone as far as i'm concerned. basically, the general consensus from the 9000 other threads on this same topic is: if you want to go fast, 15s; if you want to look fast, 16s.

Oh god ..dont throw that in there. I had 15's on my old integra, but now I'm gonna get 16's on the new hatch. Does that make my integra faster than my civic? Either way both sizes are likely to weigh less than your stock wheel/tire combo.

Well if you compared apples to apples instead of apples to oranges then YES it does.
Just get whatever you want. Most people when comparing the EXACT same wheel with same tire just differnt size are not going to be able to tell a difference in performance. So just get whatever "looks" better to you.

true true, thats why i run 195 in the rear. 15's are usually alittle smaller than stock size, 16's are very close
in the popular size 205/45/16. thats why i was thinking on 205/50.16. i rather be + mph than - .
ahh **** dont know, oh well
